Description/Comparability:
SELFWTSL indicates whether or not each 1940 sample-line person is contained in a self-weighting sample. Selecting cases in the self-weighting sample yields a "flat" sample that does not require weights. See the household-record variable SELFWTHH and Chapter 2, "Sampling Design."

This variable is fully comparable among census years. Note, however, that all sample-line persons in 1950 are weighted equally, therefore, they are all part of the self-weighting sample.
