NATIVITY indicates whether the person was native- or foreign-born.
Comparability - General
The variable is fully comparable. Some samples give actual country of birth (see BPLCNTRY). Note that nativity status has no necessary implication for the person's citizenship status.
Comparability - France
The foreign-born category includes native French persons born outside of continental France.
Comparability - United States
Persons born in U.S. "outlying areas" are considered foreign-born for purposes of this variable.
