What might prevent me from registering for the course?
Since the Major Paper is supposed to be the final history course you take, you should be a Senior in credits (90 or more) when you register for the course. Fewer credits may block your registration.
Another reason you may not be able to register for the Major Paper course is if you have not lifted the annual hold on your account by the History Department. Thus, make sure you let the Undergraduate Studies Office know you have a hold on your account when you come in to pick up your permission number for the Major Paper course so they can take it off your record prior to your registration date.
Any holds put on by CLA (e.g., late registration fee, academic probation, etc.) must be cleared through CLA, not the Undergraduate Studies Office.
