How do I get research experience?
The History Department offers many courses that introduce students to historical research skills and methodologies. These include History 4959 (How To Do History) and some upper-division writing-intensive courses that may require a research paper assignment.
It is a good idea to enroll in at least one of the courses. This will familiarize you with research strategies and build critical skills.
To identify courses with research components, check out the on-line course guide, speak with one of your history instructors, and/or consult with the undergraduate advising office.
